I am going to try something I have thought about for a long time. There is a great music resource called Song Discovery. I love it, but I always wished there was more indie music on it. So I am going to start my own. It is going to be called Creation's Song after the passage in Revelation 5:13 "And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: Blessing and honor and glory and power Be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!"
So if you are an independent worship artist/leader. Send me a CD, mp3, or a link to where I can download your music. Make certain that it is copyrighted and that you own the copyright. (This is to protect you.) Another good idea is to register with CCLI as an artist, I have. Go to CCLI and do a music search on Danny Groff and you will be able to see the music I have registered with them. This is a great way for churches to get lyrics and chord charts to your music.
Now some basic rules,
- 1-the music must be your own. You have to own the copyright
- 2-I don't care too much about production quality, I am looking for lyrical content and music catchiness (is that a word? :)
- 3-articles will be available on this site for free, but if you want a copy of the CD (hopefully at least every 2 months) the subscription rate will be $25 per year
- 4-and this is the biggest one, you must be an independent artist. If you are signed to a label, have your label contact me about the possibility of getting your music on the CD
- 5-You do NOT have to subscribe to get your music on the CD, it would be nice, but not necessary. If you are not a subscriber, you will still get a copy of the CD that your music appears on for free
- 6-If you do subscribe, I am hoping that I will receive enough material to put out a CD every 2 months (more if possible). That CD will contain the music, chord charts, lyric sheets. Complete with copyright info and CCLI song number, if available.
That is pretty much it. If you are interested as a subscriber or an artist, email me (please put "Creation's Song" in the subject so I know it isn't spam) and I will tell you where to send the CD or contact you when the magazine actually starts up for reals. |
